If you want to lighten the mood a little, then look no further than this fluffy and cartoonish comedy described as an LGBT take on Mean Girls. Using video diaries, interviews and home footage, this 2013 documentary deals with the picture perfect relationship between twentysomethings Thomas Lee Bridegroom and Shane Bitney Crone, and the aftermath of the former’s tragic death – ultimately making a hugely powerful argument for equal rights. Adapted from a YouTube short film, Bridegroom also deals with the same themes as the above, but is all the more heart-breaking for being a true story.
